#7 – Bispirin | Project Chemistree. Aspirin might have been one of the greatest advances in medicine, but it does come with some complications. If you’ve got things like Chron’s disease or Ulcerative Colitis, taking aspirin can do more harm than good.
PhD student Tara Brown is working to fix that.
She studies the molecule we’ve 3D printed and hung on the tree. It’s called “Bispirin”. It’s essentially a combination of the active ingredient in the indigestion medication Pepto-bismol and aspirin itself.
