After School LEGO Club for ages 7-12 | Term 2 2024

After School STEM Program | Tuesday afternoons, 3:30-5pm | Book now for Term 2!

From crash testing to waterslides, wind machines to robot soccer, LEGO Club is a must for all aspiring LEGO masters aged 7-12! Join us each Tuesday after school in Term 2 to learn STEM skills, take part in epic engineering design challenges, make new friends and have lots of fun.

A waiting area for parents and carers is available each week and is equipped with water cooler and tea/coffee making facilities.

BOOK NOW FOR TERM 2, 2024!

  • CLASS SIZE = Capped at 20 places (sold out last term, so get in quick!)
  • AGE = for ages 7-12 only (Year 2-6 at school)
  • COST = Cost for 9 sessions is $180 per term. Science Space members and UOW Staff receive a 10% discount. We are unfortunately unable to accept Creative Kids Vouchers at the moment – contact our office for more details.
  • TIME = Drop off time from 3:30pm for a 15min afternoon tea break (BYO snacks/water bottle) and introductory activity. Program will officially start at 3:45pm and finish at 5pm.
  • PARENTS LOUNGE = Tea/coffee making facilities and water cooler available in our kitchenette for parents wishing to stay during the session.

PLEASE NOTE – Please advise on the online booking form if your child has any additional needs or requirements so that we can best accommodate them in the sessions (carers/support workers are encouraged for participants with high needs).

WEEKLY PROGRAM – starts week 2 of Term 2, 2024

We will be starting week 2 of Term 2 2024 to allow a chance for your child to settle into their weekly routine for the new school term.

Tuesday 7th May = LEGO Minute to Win It
Get to know your new LEGO Club friends for Term 2 with LEGO blindfold challenges and relay races! Join us for a LEGO-tastic afternoon of teamwork, creativity and fun!

Tuesday 14th May = LEGO Crash Test Challenge
Create and crash! Design a wacky vehicle out of LEGO then compete in our crash test challenge. Will your creation survive?

Tuesday 21st May = LEGO Bridge Challenge
Calling all budding architects! Test your skills in our bridge competition and see if you can engineer the strongest bridge possible. How much weight will your structure hold?

Tuesday 28th May = LEGO Water Park
Dive into a world of imagination and engineering! Experiment with water and LEGO as you design epic rides such as splashpads and waterslides for our very own LEGO Club water park.

Tuesday 4th June = LEGO Aquariums
Create a captivating underwater world in our LEGO aquarium challenge and test if your design is water tight! Will your creation spring a leak?

Tuesday 11th June = LEGO Wind Machines
Design wacky wind powered contraptions and machines out of LEGO! Create vehicles, windmills, pinwheels, weather vanes and more then test how they perform in strong winds!

Tuesday 18th & 25th June = LEGO Stop Motion Film Making
Join our LEGO film crew to learn classic stop motion making techniques as you produce some brick-tastic short films. Over 2 weeks we will learn about set design, storyboarding, film editing and more!

Tuesday 2nd July = End of Term Show & Tell Week – LEGO Robot Soccer/Film Festival

Parents and carers are invited for our end of term show and tell week! Work together to build your own soccer field with LEGO bricks and control the action-packed game using Sphero Bolt robots. Which team will score the most goals? We will also have the chance for parents to check out what the kids have been busy working on this term and enjoy their LEGO stop motion films on the big screen.
